| Description: |  The Armed Man Unley Concert Band and Adelaide Harmony Choir Saturday 5th July at 7pm Scotch College Chapel, Carrith Road Torrens Park Unley Concert Band will be joining forces with the Adelaide Harmony Choir for a special performance of Karl Jenkin’s moving mass ‘The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace’ at Scotch College’s Fisher Chapel. The Armed Man was commissioned in 1999 by the Royal Armouries Museum for the Millennium celebrations and it was dedicated to victims of the Kosovo crisis. The premiere was performed at the Royal Albert Hall in 2000 by the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and the National Musicians Symphony Orchestra, and is a very popular work which more than 3000 performances worldwide. The version for this concert has been beautifully transcribed by eminent British wind and brass composer Martin Ellerby for symphonic wind band and choir.
