The SABA State Band Championships is an annual event run by the South Australian Band Association. It attracts bands from all around the state and interstate to compete in an on-stage graded contest, Parade of Bands and solo competition for all band instruments. Brass Bands and Concert Bands are all welcome to compete.
The 2022 South Australian Band Championships will be held in Tanunda on Sunday 28 August. More information will be released shortly, including information about music repertoire.
The format of the Solo and Party Championships is being revised and an announcement about the event(s) will be announced shortly.
The Australian National Band Championships for 2022 have been cancelled.

SABA STATE YOUTH BRASS AND SA YOUTH BAND CAMP
The 2023 SA Youth Band Camp will be held at Camp Kedron in the Riverland on 17-22 January. More information will be provided soon.
BLUE LAKE FESTIVAL BRASS BAND COMPETITION
Each November bands from around the country travel to Mt Gambier to perform at the Blue Lake Brass Band Festival. Bands compete by grade in the Robert Helpmann Theatre and participate in a Parade of Bands, Massed March and Christmas Parade. Bands are given an appearance fee for the festival and cash prizes are awarded to the winners. This event is proudly supperted by Mt Gambier Lions Club and WIN Television. The Salisbury City Brass Band Slow Melody Competition was originated by Mr. Ken McMahon in 1976 to provide a solo competition with an emphasis on lyrical playing for registered brass band musicians. As a result, this provides a platform for players of all standards to enter a solo competition with confidence. The 2022 contest will be held on Sunday 5 June. Entries close 13 May.

HAHNDORF BAND FESTIVAL
The Hahndorf Band Festival is an entertainment contest that is hosted by the Hahndorf Town Band and Held in the German settlement town Hahndorf. Bands from around the state compete with a variety of entertainment items. For more information contact the Handorf Town Band. MITCHAM BAND FESTIVAL
The first Mitcham Band Festival was held at the iconic Vogue Theatre in June 2017 and has grown to become a very popular and successful annual event, showcasing some of South Australia’s finest community brass and concert bands, big bands, stage bands and military bands. It has become known as Australia's fastest growing band event, attracting bands from all over South Australia. The 3 day event held mid-year, commences with a Gala opening Concert on Friday evening, and continues throughout the weekend providing a fun opportunity for each of the bands to showcase their favourite arrangements on stage in an epic musical extravaganza!
