"This work is a playful exploration of the traditional tune “Bound for South Australia”- an English song that has it’s origins on the docks of the Thames in London. The work also incorporates the “Song of Australia” written by German born South Australian composer Carl Linger. “Song of Australia” was one of four works considered as Australian National Anthem in the 1977 Anthem referendum. The “Blue Tuba” is a direct reference to the innovative fundraising campaign to finance the 2015 Youth Brass Band camp."
