Welcome to the 2011 Yamaha National Band Championships website.

The Organising Committee wishes to thank all the volunteers, adjudicators, NBCA Officials, sponsors and especially the bands and their players for making the Yamaha National Band Championships, Adelaide 2011 such a great success.

Can You Help Us?

We have misplaced two bells used by the adjudicators on Solos Day. They are of sentimental value to the person fron whom they were borrowed. If you can assist us in locating these please email webmaster@sabandassociation.org

Yamaha NATIONAL BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS ADELAIDE 2011 Launch a great success

After almost two years of planning the Yamaha National Band Championships Adelaide 2011 have been officially launched. It began in spectacular style with the current Australian Champion Marching Concert Band, Unley Concert Band, marching along Rundle Mall to the tune of “Waltzing Matilda”. They then delighted spectators with a selection of rousing music. Dr Kevin Cameron, the President of the National Band Council of Australia, officially launched the Yamaha National Band Championships. The Band marched away along the Mall. We were then treated to a concert by the Para Hills Brass Band.

The challenge presented by ANZAC Day falling on Easter Monday has influenced the scheduling. Brass Bands will complete their competition on Saturday thus allowing them to travel home to meet commitments. However, should they wish to stay on they are invited to join us in our celebrations. In lieu of a Gala Concert a major ANZAC Day event is being planned.

For more detailed information about any aspect of these championships see the relevant section of this website.
