“We had about 28 at rehearsal last night. The atmosphere was all a buzz. Those of us who went to the Band Camp were all singing it's praises as a means of us improving our playing. Our test piece didn't seem so hard after all we went through on the camp.”

The South Australian Band Association is the governing body for Brass Bands and increasingly Concert Bands in South Australia.

Our aim is to promote, nurture and encourage the banding movement in South Australia so that we may all grow and prosper.

    Our aims and objectives are as follows:

  • Encourage and promote the formation of bands.
  • Assist bands with
      • a. Education and tuition
      • b. Performance and appreciation of band music
  • Promote for the furtherance and protection of their mutual interest
      • a. The Association of Bands
      • b. Band Music
      • c. Members of Bands
  • Encourage friendship and good fellowship amongst band personnel and other members of bands.
  • Promote, organise, manage and control in the State of South Australia:
      • a. Band Competitions and Contests
      • b. Party and Solo Competitions
      • c. Assist in developing the standard of music, drill and performance.
  • Raise funds.
