Unley Concert Band has success at the Victorian Bands’ League Championships
  At the Victorian State Championships at the Centre for Performing Arts in Ballarat on 23rd. August the Unley Concert Band won the Open B Grade Concert Band Championship. We came first ( 90/100) for the Own Choice test piece "Music for a Festival" and for the two Entertainment pieces "Lawrence of Arabia" and "That's Entertainment" and we won the overall combined event by 5 clear points. The adjudicator was very complimentary about much of the playing. Special congratulations to the team who made up the band for Ballarat. An SA band has not won in Victoria for some years so that added to the achievement.
