HELP MITCHAM CITY BRASS GET TO THE 2009 NATIONAL BRASS BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS IN NSW
MITCHAM CITY BRASS WINE FUNDRAISER: MANAGERS BLEND
BRUT CUVEE @ $60/doz A blend of Riesling and Chardonnay fruit gives the wine flavour on the sweetish mid-palate which dries towards a firm finish. An easy-drinking and great value bubbly for any occasion.
CABERNET/SHIRAZ @ $75/doz The flavours on the palate exhibit soft fruit characters and tannin complexity. A round and soft, easy-drinking wine which has good balance and palate length. Fruit sourced from McLaren Vale.
SEMILLON/CHARDONNAY @ $95/doz A medium-straw colour with a greenish hue. There is a hint of herbaceous Semillon which intermingles with the melon and peachy Chardonnay aromas. The palate is crisp and delicate with the rich full body of Chardonnay balancing the more austere Semillon to provide a pleasant lingering finish.
TAWNY PORT @ $10/btl The colour is light tawny and there are raisin aromas on the nose. The palate is sweet and simple and the finish is clean.

The Festival of Music – a joint venture of the Department of Education and Children’s Services and the SA Public Primary Schools Music Society – offers outstanding opportunities for public school instrumental music students.
The Festival is a series of 12 concerts held at the Festival Theatre each year. Each concert has a primary school choir of 450 students and an accompanying orchestra of 40 primary school students. Each concert has a different choir and the 3 orchestras share the 12 concerts between them.
Between the choral brackets are Assisting Artists, which vary from individual items through to ensembles of up to 25 students. These artists are selected from both primary and secondary students.
Selection in the orchestras, or as an Assisting Artist, is considered to be a prestigious opportunity to experience live performance and to further students’ knowledge of live theatre productions.
In the past students taught by DECS teachers have been well represented and we would like to bring these opportunities to the attention of students learning from private music teachers.
Auditions are now being called for both the orchestra and Assisting Artists.
