Organised by The South Australian Band Association, participants will work with professional tutors and musicians from South Australia and interstate during four days of intensive rehearsals leading to a public performance. Principal conductors will be Barrie Gott, Dr Kevin Cameron.

Band Camp

2008 SABA BAND CAMP

The SA Band Association was pleased to announce a major new developmental initiative for 2008 – the SABA Band Camp. 

The SABA Band Camp, was non-residential camp, conducted at Prince Alfred College between Wednesday 16 and Saturday 19 July. The Camp operated open age brass and concert bands in the evening.

Conductors for the Band Camp were Mr Barrie Gott (Qld), Dr Kevin Cameron (SA). In addition, sectional rehearsals were led by well known professional musicians.

The Camp activities culminated in a final public concert on Saturday 19 July at Prince Alfred College.

The SABA Band Camp was supported by Arts SA (through the Health Promotion program), Prince Alfred College, and the SA Band Association.

The South Australian Band Association regrets that it was necessary to cancel the daytime Youth section due to insufficient enrolments.

The SABA Band Camp offers participants of all ages the opportunity of technical and musical skill development and experience under the direction of well known conductors and professional musicians. This is an important developmental opportunity for all musicians involved in banding in South Australia.
